Hi all, I have a problem that I was wondering if you could help with. I'm
running a single NT/2000 domain behind an ISA firewall on 2000 and Exchange
5.5 on NT. Through ISA I have email forwarded to a separate box running 2000
SMTP with IIS 5.0 for email screening. It is a feature with ISA that allows
you to screen email to block certain attachments, or keywords, or from
certain domains, etc. The 2000 box then forwards on the email to my Exchange
box and from there to my users running Outlook 2000. The problem I'm having
is that several emails a day to several different users are not getting
through form the outside, and come back with this error 'Diagnostic-Code:
smtp;554 5.6.1 Body type not supported by Remote Host'. Also in the Badmail
queue on the 2000 box I get the following error 'This is a MIME-formatted
message. Portions of this message may be unreadable without a MIME-capable
mail program.' The problem stops if I don't relay through the 2000 SMTP
server, so I don't think the problem is with Exchange or my Outlook clients.

I can't find anything in the Knowledge Base, but in my research I did
find from another list where someone was receiving the same error messages
though a similar set-up in which he had a 2000 SMTP (IIS 5.0) server set up
to relay email from a DMZ into a NT box running Exchange 5.5 (IIS 4.0). I
didn't see where he ever found a resolution though. This would lead me to
believe that my problem is not directly caused by the ISA server.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have a similar setup that runs
successfully, or is there just compatibility issues with 2000 SMTP on IIS
5.0 to NT Exchange 5.5 on IIS 4.0?
