I can now answer my own question: they will be recreated automatically.
What the kb article didn't mention that caused a brief panic was as well as
deleting priv.edb to delete the associated log files (and inevitably you end
up running isinteg -patch also).

Otherwise all went smoothly - thanks for the reassurance that the procedure
works!
