Yep. Been there. What a pain.

Basically your OST is encrypted (whether you specify it to be or not)
and it is linked to a key that travels with your NT account.

No Account = No OST.

Go to www.officerecovery.com <http://www.officerecovery.com> . They have
the converter. If what is in the OST is worth the price, their converter
will work. They have a demo that will pull all the header info from an
OST into a pst - the demo does not pull the msg body though.

Yea, Your screwed.
There is an OST to PST converter. I think it is around $400.

People here will tell you to try about a dozen things, but none will
work.

Subject: Importing .OST file to another mailbox...

Hi everyone,

I have a question about how to import mail files, specifically .ost
files !

I have an .ost file from an existing NT account created earlier say
"james" and the "james" as the name of this mailbox. Now the guy is
gone and I had deleted this account. But now we have decided to
recreate his account because we want to redirect his mail to someone
else. I am able to recreate the account and mailbox without any
problems but I need to see his previous mail that is stored from the
.ost file! Is there a way I can import/merger from Outlook client or
from the Exchange server to get his existing .ost file into this newly
created mailbox?

When I set the .ost to the path of the old mailbox it says that it isn't
the right mailbox so it can't be used!

Thanks in advance of any help you can provide.

Dan
