I know
one thing about the macs, is they hate that hosts file #1.

when they resolve the name go back in and sometimes the name is changed. Also,
make sure you allow clear text (I dont know how to shut it off mind you) but the
macs can only send in clear text I believe.
Do you have appleshare running on your ntfs volumes? I dont know if
you need this but the few installations I have done involving macs I always used
appleshare as well to help it along..
