Excuse me! We are talking about Exchange here, not anyone's sex life!

Thanks for the info. I'll look into this option. As usual, my mandate is:
do it as quickly as possible with no down time. ;-)

Well as stated already you do need to have an AD environment. However
you can upgrade your domain to AD, Install the ADC to sync your Exchange
5.5 server with AD. Then install the temporary Exchange 2k server into
the same Organization as your Exchange 5.5 system. Move the Mailboxes.
Redo you Current server (OS, and Exchange2k with new name or same name)
and then move the mailboxes back.

We didn't have an NT 4 domain to start with but we did have an exchange
5.5 server in our W2k Domain and this is how I upgraded to Exchange 2k.
I didn't do an inplace upgrade because I wasn't sure how well it would
work and I felt this was safer.

That's a bummer. The last time I used Exmerge, working with MS, it
killed every single attachment in the IS.

Exchange 2k does not work with out and AD win2k. Until you upgrade your
PDC to Win2k you don't have to worry about Exchange 2k. Exchange will
also not install on a workstation.

The only way what you want to work to happen would be with Exmerge. The
Ed Crowley method will not help you out there.
