"clear up afterwards"? What does _that_ mean, specifically. It only happens
for the first download of the day, or the duplicates "majically" dissapear?

Subject: Exchange 5.5 SP4 Duplicate Messages

Help!

I have one exchange box running nt4 SP6a with exchange 5.5 SP4 on it. We
migrated from Ipswitch Imail a year ago and everything to date has gone well
with Exchange except for one nagging problem I cannot find a resolution to.
Duplicate email messages intermittently will occur in various users Outlook
2000 mail client. I originally thought the problem was only with users who
have both exchange and internet mail services configured in Outlook 2000.
Those people were told to pick one and stick with it. Recently however, a
user configured for IMO in Outlook 2000 began receiving duplicate messages
as well. This is a remote user, so he dials up to the internet sporadically
through the day and checks for email. The duplicates will appear in the
first download of the day, but clear up afterward. It is all messages that
are duplicated when this happens, not just messages addressed to DL's or
multiple recipients. I can locate technet notes on duplicate messages in
public folders, but I cannot find any info on problems with duplicate
messages in user mailboxes.

Thanks for any help.
