Hi, Coincidence, just have a meeting with the iPlanets people here in Singapore. Discussed something similar; we are university campus here also. They can customize the iPlanet Mail Server to work with any LDAP server as long as the LDAP server is compliant with the LDAP protocol. They believe they can work with OID - Oracle Internet Directory server. They have some reservation with Active Directory as the AD apart from LDAP has extra attributes that Microsoft build in.
