This is something I have used in Excel. It was cut from MS help for VB
applications. Don't know if it will work for what you are doing, but
worth a try.

' we have to wait while the previous command runs.
PauseTime = 5   ' Set duration.
Start = Timer   ' Set start time.
Do While Timer < Start + PauseTime
    DoEvents    ' Yield to other processes.
Loop
