Hi Eric, I've just finished doing a full swing upgrade to E2K, the second part of the swing being to move from one E2K box to another. Honestly, it was probably the least painfull Exchange procedure I've had to do recently. In a nutshell:
#1. Install E2k #2. Move the mailboxes using AD User and Computers (Right click, Exchange Tasks) #3. Replicate the other folders (Q284148, steps 4-8) #4. Setup the needed connectors, transfer the routing role #5. Uninstall E2K from the original server It's late and it's been a long day, so I can't promise that I didn't miss anything :) Greg Kras MCP+I MCSE Sunbelt Software Technical Services Manager -----Original Message----- From: Eric Mailloux [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, March 26, 2002 4:42 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Moving an Exchange 2K Server to another machine... Hello, I sure hope someone can help me on that... So here it is : I have a E2K Server. It is installed on the DC, since the management did not want to spend the money on two servers at the time. Now that we have the money, I want (and need) to "transfer" the installed mail server to a new server. I will obviously have to change the mail server's name since I cannot have two computers (DC and mail server) with the same name on the same network. Is there a SURE way to do that?
