In addition, what kind of attachments are they?

Exchange doesn't 'drop' messages.  Are they in the queues?  Is message
tracking enabled to see where they go?

You must mean NT4 sp6, Exchange 5.5 sp4?

We're on Exchange Server 5.5, SP6 and we have a sporadic problem with both
external and internal messages not being delivered.  These email messages
usually have attachments as well.  Has anyone had experience with this type
of problem?  Thanks.
