Thanks for all quick respond. to: Brent Hudson ================== - The company doesn't want the subdomain ( public.abc.com or office.abc.com )
to:Rickenbacher Beat ==================== ok, let's say exchange 2000 is the first hit, ( mean change the DNS server record, abc.com point to IP address 202.162.2.1) I only create the users a,b,c,d,for Private users. [EMAIL PROTECTED] / [EMAIL PROTECTED] / [EMAIL PROTECTED] / d@abc,com if the somebody send the email to Exchange2000 server, - [EMAIL PROTECTED] of course, the email server can't locate the user in Exchange 2000 user list. ( means this is unresolved mails ) So, where should exchange 2000 forward the email to?? to Linux server? is the linux server use the same domain? of course the Private users point their SMTP and POP3 to the Exchange 2000 email server, BUT how about Public users? their POP3 server point to Exchage 2000 or Linux? If point to Exchange 2000 email server, user ([EMAIL PROTECTED] ) not found.! If point to Linux mail server, then should the linux use the same domain (abc.com )? to: Marty Richards =================== So, means that the Linux server must run as secondary domain (public.abc.com ), if not, then no way to solve this problem??
