dude - it is the route.

you are not using DNS at this point because telnetted directly to the server.

The server is clueless about what the native domain is so it is considering everything a relay.

Sorry, it's 2K. I've just worked on MX, so I'm going to see how that one fairs. Then I'll do the route thing. One adjustment at a time :]

I'm sorry. Is this Exch 55 or 2K. Since you didnt say, I will assume you have the same as I do.

In the Internet Mail Connector you need to have the domain added under the routing tab.

I'm working the DNS part out with Jeremiah Watson (earlier response). What are you refering to by routing in IMS?

Two things. Check your DNS.

Also make sure you have added the domain under Routing in the IMS

So this is what I get when I send email to my domain:

   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
    (reason: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [EMAIL PROTECTED])

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to scotiazone.com.:
>>> RCPT To:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<<< 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 5.1.1 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... User unknown

The funny thing is that this is a reply from a  mail I sent out using the mail.scotiazone.com/exchange OWA. It mailed it out fine, when I replied, I get this. Any ideas? The user exists, I logged in through OWA no problem.
