Yes, all DNS queries from both internal win2k DNS, and external dns appear to function. We have been getting email for 3 months with no problem, except for two vendors at this bellsouth-hosting as their smtp/pop provider.

Doing some research I did find out that at one time my client did have their info on bellsouth-hosting and even though their DNS shows up with the proper information, they havent deleted the zone. We are going on this basis.

Are your customers A records, reverse records, and MX records in PERFECT shape?

Is there a A record that EXACTLY matches the name of their mail server?
Does the reverse lookup match the machine name?

Well, what I have is our customer running e2k and one of their vendors uses bellsouth-hosting.net as their outbound provider. When their vendor sends mail to my e2k customer they get that message. So Im not able to do anything specific from what I can tell. I told them to contact their web hosting company to work it out.. but dont know..

I would bet you are going to need to create a custom SMTP connector to forward this email through another email server on a different backbone. Or have what every odd routing problem there is fixed.

Run NSLOOKUP for that domain from their Exchange server console.  (set type=mx)
See what that returns first.

I have a client running win2k/e2k. They have one vendor who is using bellsouth-hosting.net as their outbound mail provider. They can send mail to any domain except this one customer. This is the error message

Sorry, I couldn't find a mail exchanger or IP address. (#5.4.4)

Now if he sends the email to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] and then cc's like aol or anything else the message is delivered and it comes back saying [EMAIL PROTECTED] not found then that message. The user is receiving email just fine from apparently everyone else, I checked spelling 10 times thinking I was nuts but where can I look this error up?
