Subject: RE: exchange 5.5 to exchange 2000 migrationWilliam,Surprisingly, I've talked to a number of people who still haven't grasped that concept. Most of the organizations were smaller and didn't have dedicated email administrators, just people doing the add/moves. Unfortunately, they don't read most of the documents about Exchange 2000 and rely on broad articles by pulp magazines to decide in which direction they will go. The unfortunate side affect of Microsoft growing up as an "easy to use" desktop operating system is that many managers think that all Microsoft products are easy to use. Microsoft has changed a great deal since those days (as you well know) and you need to have professionals to architect and run your applications.I don't know why I'm pontificating this morning, maybe it's the meeting I have to go to this afternoon with all the oxygen thieves.List Charter and FAQ at:-----Original Message-----

Why is upgrading to SP3 such a problem? I insist on mine running SP4. I reinstall the SP every time a change is made as well.

Subject: exchange 5.5 to exchange 2000 migration
All:
We are a small business, 1 exchange server/PDC and 1 BDC all NT4 at this
point We are slowly moving to win 2000 and our first task is to upgrade to
exchange 2000 on a new machine from exchange 5.5 (on nt4 sp6).I have read
you need to be on sp3 of exchange 5.5 in order to migrate. Is this true
and if so can anyone tell me why? This just adds another complication to
the process which I really dont need.
Thanks in advance for your help.
