Unfortunately, no.  On the 2 servers that I ran the patch on so far, the one that we didn't have problems with has the following permissions on the share, even after I removed the share and restarted the SA and the share was recreated:
 
Local Admins and the server have Full Control
Everyone has Read
 
On the server that we did have problems with, after the SA recreated the share, the server doesn't have any permissions, but the other 2 groups have the same permissions as above.
 
The call to MS PSS for this problem was free since it's a known issue, once you give them an account number or credit card.

After applying this patch, our SA would not start.  MS PSS says there's a known issue with this patch in that it changes the share permissions on the servername.log share.  The fix is to remove the share, start the SA, and the share gets recreated with the correct share permissions.
