How about posing the Q number ? :) -----Original Message----- From: Steve Balen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, July 02, 2002 3:39 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Exchange/Outlook Resolution problem
Yes, RUS is stamping it. We actually found a q article that stated a reg fix that will fix a screw up the security roll up did. The keeper of the GC's int hat domain will do this and then let us know. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] at INTERNET Sent: Tuesday, July 02, 2002 3:30 PM To: Balen, Steve B - Raleigh, NC; [EMAIL PROTECTED] at INTERNET Subject: RE: Exchange/Outlook Resolution problem Is the account being stamped by the RUS? Typically this has to happen before the account shows up in the GAL which is required before Outlook can resolve the name. Here is our situation - we have a "development" 2000 domain with an exchange 2000 server in it, basically all for testing and staging build tests. We are trying to test a blackberry server build from start to finish. One of the things blackberry depends on is using an outlook profile to attach to exchange. The only problem is - we cannot resolve any user we create in AD and generate an email address for. The email address gets generated, it propagates and all is good. However, when trying to attach to that profile (resolve it from the outlook client) it says it cannot resolve. 1) It appears the servers are talking to the GC's. 2) We are able to ping the NetBIOS name. 3) Even directly on the exchange server with a client installed, it gets the same error 4) The first exchange server has been ripped out and reinstalled many times already (my theory is this is the problem) What I am asking is if anyone ever heard of such a problem and what you guys suggest.
