Is the IMS in Ex5.5 or Virtual SMTP in Ex2k, multi-threaded.?
That is if the server is dual CPU, does it means each CPU takes
half the connections.

I ask the same question on the Unix Sendmail list sometime ago and was
told Sendmail is process based. Sendmail can process 30 mails per
second which means it can spawn 30 child process to process the load.
How abt Exchange?

Subject: connection values for IMS

hi,
Number of mailboxes:3000
Configuration:EXC. 5.5 with SP4 org. on MS NT Srvs. with SP6

what is the appropriate connection numbers in IMS Transfer Mode portion for
3000 mailbox users?..
As all you know,the default values are below as below;

Max.no of Inbound Connections:30
Max.no of Outbound Connections:20
Max.no of Connections to a single host:10
Max.no of Messages sent in a Connection:8

Does increasing these values effect IMS performance?..If yes, how can i
implement this changing most effectively for 3000 users?..thanx all,rgdrs..
