Ouch!

Was that DC just shut off? Actually , that shouldn't matter.

Every 15 minutes, exchange tests for the "usability" of DCs in the local
site. One of the usability tests is "do I get a ping response within 2
seconds". Are there other DCs in the site where Exchange is? Has System
Attendant been restated since that DC went offline?

They are set to automatic. If they were not, my excuse would be because I
don't have cool letters after my name like "Exchange MVP". I will look into
the meta cleanup Andy mentioned. Thanks

Right-click on the server in ESM. There should be a "Directory Access" tab.
Remove old. And explain why you have them manually coded instead of
automatic.

Subject: Old DC Reference?

We have an Exchange server that is referencing a retired DC and creating
event log errors. Any ideas off the top of your head where I can make an
adjustment to remove this reference? It is related to LDAP Bind. TIA

Event Category: LDAP Operations

Event ID: 8026

LDAP Bind was unsuccessful on directory DCS-05.xxx.com for distinguished
name ''. Directory returned error:[0x51] Server Down.
