I performed the changes again with the same result but this time I restarted
the server and when it came back up everything was fine. Go figure. Outlook,
OWA and mobile devices are all working.

ok, I reversed all the steps and it still didn't work so I bounced the box
and everything works again. I'm going to go through the procedure again and see
what happens.

You missed a step somewhere. Go back over it and verify you crossed all the
t's and dotted all the I's.

I performed the procedure below to allow active sync and forms based auth
to be able to work on the same Exchange 2003 box but now that I have done that,
we can no longer receive any email at all! Anyone have any idea why this might
be?

There appears to be a work around. I am going to give it a try.

Yep.. I have seen this with the 2.1 iPhone software. Supposedly it is
supposed to be fixed in the next update.

Argh my mistake. Its the remote devices (iPhones) that cant connect
when the forms based auth is turned on.

          Subject: Active Sync Admin Tool

We just started using active sync here with Exchange 2003. I
installed this tool in order to do remote wipes, however it seems in order for
it to work I have to turn off forms based auth for the exchange virtual server.
When I do that though my OWA stops working. Can any guide me a little as to how
I can set this up for both to work? We have a single Exchange server, if that
helps any.

          TIA
