Yes, BES sees moves to a different server but you have to kick it to see
moves between databases on the same server - might try " C:\Program
Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise
Server\Utility\handheldcleanup -u" or stop and start the dispatcher from
the BB manager UI - warning, this will stop ALL users on that BES until
the services are fully started and have started all the users - this can
take a while depending on how many users.

Thanks, That's a definite on the restart of the BES services (BTDT). We
have different mailstores for our different contractors so that's not an
option. Downhill requires brakes - careful with that analogy.

The only thing we run into is that some blackberry users (different
users at different times all on a single BES 4.1) lose connectivity
following a DB relocation. If you have BES, do a quick restart of the
service at the bottom of the script and you should be fine.

Depending on your mailbox sizes and future intentions, I recommend
writing your script to look at existing mailstores and process each
mailbox one at a time putting it in the smallest applicable mailstore,
then you don't have to worry about balancing stuff out to keep stores at
manageable sizes.

Good luck, its all downhill from here.

Thanks for the PoSh lesson. This is to clear up whitespace and will work
out nicely, any caveats to moving a mere 60 mailboxes?

Correct, it will default to the local server if a server name is not
supplied.

But once again I didn't need to supply the server name for it to work on
the other DBs. I AM running it locally.

Yeah you need servername in there.

Get-mailbox -database server\database name.

I use that in a ton of scripts, from balancing mailstores to moving
folks completely off a store to kill white space.

I get Mailbox Database for that one but it won't run
Get-Mailbox -Database Mailbox Database returns an error but it works for
all of the other ones I've created after that.

What does the PoSH command get-mailboxdatabase respond with? Usually
when you are sending db names they are server\db like
oregonmail1\a_standardusers

Having a major brain fade here, I'm trying to create a PoSh script to
move all mailboxes from the default EDB to a new one but I don't seem to
be able to come up with the right name for the default and I didn't
change it at install. E2K7, SP1 TIA
