Yes I have echo Ralph's comments. My story: An Archiving product was selected prior to me joining my current employer. I spent 10 months with Prof. Svcs and support trying to make it work. We removed and canned that particular product and I went through a research and listening to the sales pitch hunt(just before SEA came out..) and then narrowed it down to 4 for a Proof of concept test that I spent about 4 months working on. In that time we used a virtualized Exchange environment and tested all facets of the products, install, backend, maintenance, legal discoveries, clients, Administrative efforts, and so on... it was vary enlightening as products marketed and rated as 'the best' or in certain high ranking quadrants, didn't necessarily meet our requirements or perform as described. For example took over 3 weeks for a particular product to even get installed and functioning with a 4 freshly installed Exchange server environment after that time the engineers from this company wanted to continue working on it, but we were so turned off by the experience we said no thanks, we'll evaluate what we have.

I made a big dumb mistake making a decision based on live demos. However when I got the system (not Sunbelt)installed it had some unexpected effects on my exchange server. One example - by the time it finished archiving all the messages in my exchange store the size of the .edb file had almost doubled. They said they 'had never seen this before' and it is apparently due to restricted views created when it queries the database. I also had random store.exe crashes while it is stubbing, the Outlook Plugin under certain conditions crashes the workstation, the OWA addin sometimes stops working making OWA unusable, - I could go on.
