Ah ha. What I read said to copy those two files from the exchange server to the dpm server.
No qualifications about 32 or 64 bit either way. Typical MS documentation, give you just enough info to be confusing and not work. BTW did I read that you have to use the 64 bit DPM to backup HyperV. Maybe you need 64bit DPM to backup 64 bit exchange. Rant mode on. This dpm project has been one of the most frustrating projects I've tackled in quite a long time. A brand new product and they don't support backing up to removable disks. Rant mode off.
