Good morning/afternoon, Environment: Exchange 2003 SP2 Outlook 2007 SP1 Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 Citrix Roaming Profiles
I was thinking about developing a simple VB script, or possibly a simple application that can be used to launch Outlook with various command line switches (cleanreminders, cleanfreebusy, cleanprofile, etc.). My question to you is if there are any know issues or incompatibilities associated with launcing Outlook with a switch from within a Citrix session. Most of our users don't have locally installed Office Applications so performing this troubleshooting step can only be facilitated via Citrix. Scenario: 1) User calls help desk with issue. 2) Technician determines that launching Outlook with a certain switch may resolve the issue. 3) User is instructed to close Outlook. 4) Technician publishes VB app to user that presents buttons for launching Outlook with various switches. 5) User launches app and clicks appropriate option. 6) Outlook launches with the selected switch. 7) Issue is resolved (or not). Does this seem like a feasible idea? - Sean
