I was able to restore the file copies of the database to the recovery storage group. Thanks Paul.
I used this document: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=DF144AF6-BEE5-4B35-866A-557E25FE2BA1&displaylang=en Now, I just have to move these mailboxes to back the main storage group, which i believe where the good old exmerge comes into play.
