I'm sorry I don't have time to give you a complete answer this morning, but
this is called "backscatter". Biggle on "exchange 2003 backscatter" and you
should find loads of help.

Subject: Basic help

Hello all....

I'm getting several messages per day that are hanging in the outbound queues.
They all appear to be spam and have these characteristics:
In ESM/ Message Properties the Sender is
postmas...@concuity.com<mailto:postmas...@concuity.com>. The Subject for all
of them is Delivery Status Notification (Failure). The Recipients are to
various spam addresses. The 'Additional Queue Information' is 'The remote
server did not respond to a connection attempt.'

I'm wondering how these are being generated and if there is a way to stop them.

The environment is Exchange 2003 Enterprise fully patched. Outlook 2003 and
2007 clients.

Any help/advice/links/tips would be greatly appreciated!
