Hello all,

I'm having a problem configuring an Outlook 2007 client behind a firewall to
use RPC over HTTPs. I may struggle to explain the scenario clearly, so bare
with me...

Environment:
Exchange 2003 FE Server
2 Exchange 2003 BE Servers
Windows 2003 AD
Outlook 2007

I have a server that runs a particular application that needs to use Outlook
for MAPI connectivity with Exchange. This server sits behind a firewall as
it is governed by PCI although the server is a member of the same domain as
Exchange. I'm attempting to setup an Outlook profile for the service account
the application runs under. I'm unable to resolve the mailbox name during
the profile setup when logged in as that service account. The service
account has Domain User privileges and is an Administrator on the server.
Here's the weird part. I can have the System Administrator of this
particular application, who is also an Adminstrator on the server, log into
the server and successfully create the Outlook profile for the Service
Account mailbox. We verified connectivity by launching Outlook,
authenticating as the service account, and verified we were connected via
HTTPs by looking at the Outlook connection status from the system tray icon.

I've also tested RPC over HTTPs successfully using an Outlook 2007 client
that is not behind a Firewall.

It seems like the issue is somehow related to the service account but I'm
not sure what permissions it would be lacking that would cause this
behavior.
