Agree completely with Michael, we are a decent size mobile shop, right now we do NOT allow Droid as it has no way of enforcing the exchange policies we have in place. We do allow iPhones and are keeping the users up to date with the latest OS version. Same with Windows Mobile, 6.1 and above only. But our main supplier of mobile email is with RIM, over 75% of the environment....
If you are looking to allow happy clients offer up other options other than RIM, but if looking solely for security RIM only.... Jeff A. I've been looking into it, and it seems like the newer smartphones are not much different than full on computers minus the antivirus and firewalls. - iPhone had a pdf exploit released today. - The 2.2 Android Froyo apparently bypasses all exchange security. - Looking at the Android marketplace, there are free click button apps to disable exchange policies. - People are putting custom ROMs on their Androids made by who knows who.
