You need to let the consistency check finish and quit worrying. Life is too
short. :)

Remember -- those 1TB drives are SLOW to start with and you are contending
with normal Exchange activity as well as the consistency check. With a 1TB
drive, and only 197+218=415 GB in use - you probably don't need to worry about
disk space either.

Once that is done, if you want to turn on circular logging, go for it.

Oh, and get a better backup product.

Subject: E 2010 backup question

Exchange 2010
Two sites
Two mbx/HT servers in each site
Three DB's per server
Three way DAG, one copy go to the other server in the site and a copy to a
server in the other site. No lag copies.
Single 1 tb volume holds its own DB/logs. For example, L: has a 197gb database
and 218gb logs (we're smack in the middle of 2003 to 2010 migration)

So, a well-known 3rd party backup tells us they can't back up if there are more
than 15-20gb of log files per volume (to be addressed "soon")

I'm running a native MS backup that's been doing the consistency check for
going on 14 hours; I know it can take a long time and I'm not quite at the
point of worrying about that- yet. But between worrying about not having a
backup and running out of disk space....

In theory, could we enable circular logging, stop services, move logs, start
services, do backup all the while hoping nothing goes sideways in between?
Seems to make sense but In the 2010 dag world, just not sure how to go about
it-I'd guess we'd do the same to the log files in the dag copies as well, but
if it comes down to having to do something, I don't want to guess.

Any thoughts, reassurances, other ideas, or "you're in a world of ****" would
be welcome:)

Thanks,
Paul
