Subject: Outlook 2003 & resolving server name

Exchange 2003
Outlook 2003
Windows XP Pro.

Recently we went through the process of moving mailboxes across to new
Ex2k3 servers within the same org.
Over 4500 mailboxes resolved the new server name OK without the need to do a
check name on the account.
One machine we have, has over 50 profiles on it. Each user logs onto the PC
with a unique user name and accesses their account.

There is group policy applied to this pc to reduce the privileges. The other
PCs are not as restricted as these.

When the member of staff logs onto the pc with a roaming profile. They need to
do a check name on the account to resolve the new server name Email will
continue to work but the setting isn't saved when they log off.

What stops Outlook from resolving the correct server name when a check name
works fine?

I've got a feeling that, the user does not have enough rights to save the
change and therefore Outlook cannot auto resolve the new server name?
IS this server name saved into the profile?

Thanks
john
