It also depends on when you started outlook. Outlook checks first about 10
minutes after it's been started.

IIRC Outlook in cached mode automatically updates the offline address book on
the client every 24 hours. The 24-hour time period is measured from the time
that the offline address book was last downloaded successfully on that client.
For example, if you complete an offline address book download at 09:00 today,
Outlook will start the offline address book download the next day at
approximately 09:00. Therefore, different people will receive updates at
different, random times.

Phil

Exch 2007 SP1, CCR...Outlook 2007 in Cached mode

Lately we've been getting a lot of calls about the Address Book not being up to
date. Having the user manually update always solves the problem...but I'm
wondering...

Our Exchange servers are up to date on patching. However, our PC's are
many...many...many months behind because the powers that be don't want to force
reboots for mostly non-24/7 PC's. And yes, it makes no sense to me either.

Could the lack of patching for Outlook be causing the OAB to not be updated
every night? I guess I'm wondering if a mismatch in security patches might
somehow, in the zillions of lines of code that be the Microsoft Monster, be
causing an issue...
