We're in the final stages of moving from one Exchange 2007 server to another.
One of the remaining tasks is reconfiguring about a dozen old apps and pieces of hardware that send mail using IP addresses to send to the new server. Someone has suggested the alternative of changing the old email server to a different IP and giving the new server the existing server's IP? Assuming DNS is correctly resolving names, is there a problem with this?
