Subject: Adding autodiscover/legacy.domain.com to internal dns?

We have a split DNS, so in migrating from Exchange 2003 to 2010 I intend to add
autodiscover.domain.com and legacy.domain.com to our public DNS.

Right now, our internet facing front-end Exchange 2003 server can be accessed
as mail.domain.com both internally and externally for OWA/ActiveSync/RPC over
HTTPS.

Presumably I can simply add legacy.domain.com to our internal dns, but I'm a
little unsure/wary of the autodiscover DNS entry and couldn't find much
documentation about where it is used internally.

Thanks,
Paul
