I recommend you take a look at GLBS instead. That's a supported/certified solution.

Sure it'll work, but I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to failure modes. How well does a GRE tunnel handle an OSPF re-convergence and route change between the two sites? In the middle of a vMotion? I imagine DAG replication is immune and a non-issue.
