I remember fiddling with this script and being pretty happy with the results.

Been there done that, thanks though. From talking to Bill Long on his Technet
blog site it seems it's a fairly common issue we're facing - somehow items
(mostly contacts) get their category corrupted so that if you look at a folder
you'll see 2 sets of categories of "none".

You can resolve it by setting both sets of "none" to something, then clearing
them, but it's a PITA if you have a few dozen folders affected, could be worse
though could be a few hundred!

Have you taken a look at pfdavadmin and seen if it can help?

Subject: Outlook Category "Fixer"?

So, most of my public folder replication issues in going from 2003 to 2010 seem
to be caused by things like a folder showing two sets of items with a category
of "none".

I can fix it folder by folder by changing all these items to a random category
then clearing it, but that doesn't really scale when you have lots of folders.

Does anyone know of anything that will go off and scour a folder tree and
automate some of this please?

Ideally it would keep a record of which items it's changed.

Thanks,
Paul
