I thought they offered SAML 2.0 / Shib authentication? Would that not be a better option than syncing passwords to Google?

What are other people with AD internally doing to sync passwords to Google apps? The initial password can't be set (subsequent changes can) which seems to be less than ideal. I can't see requiring people to change their password to get it synced up.
