That sounds more like a DNS corruption issue. Have you tried flushing your DNS cache?

Now I can fix this error at my end by checking external DNS server in the send connector network settings (exchange 2010). However this particular domain is having problems with receing from multiple senders. I spoke with their admin today and he is pulling out his hair. Could it be that they are checking SPF records?
