You sure that the errors are being generated by the smart host and not from
the receiving mail servers?

On your SMTP connector, you enter the smarthost name/IP address in the
proper field.

i know this maybe a dumb question, but do I just point the external smtp
connectory to the smarthost , enter credentials, and apply? will messages
in the queue update or do they have to be resent?

If they have a limit, then yes. Large files will be blocked. But you can
contact the ISP to confirm that.

Hi all,

despite be removed from all rbls' ciscos' ironport shows the mta reputaion
as poor (which godaddy seems to religously follow)- earlier in the thread a
smarthost was suggested till all the non-sense is cleared up-

question i have is; the client deals with somehwhat large files at time 30
to 50 mb- if i use the ISP's smarthost will their limit (typically 20 mb )
override the exchange settings?

thanks-

PS: if anyone knows how to deal with this godaddy or ironport PLEASE let me
know- and yes I have tried godadd's
http://unblock.secureserver.net/ - with no luck

Thanks

JP
