Firstly, the rather arbitrary "single depth" limitation, that's then by convention been turned into an awkward "two depth via hyphens" limitation. Secondly, a package is in exactly one category. That's also rather arbitrary. Thirdly, categories don't work very nicely for non-e-based things. Q: what's the most annoying thing you can do in email? -- Ciaran McCreesh
