I think adding six new variables and two new functions for this is a bit much.
I'd go for something a lot simpler. Like a single DEFAULT_SRC_CONFIGURE_TESTS
that takes three arguments:
DEFAULT_SRC_CONFIGURE_TESTS=(
"--any --enable-foo --disable-foo"
"--any --with-bar --without-bar"
)
