"When -oX is used on the command line to start a listening
daemon, the process id is not written to the normal pid file
path. However, -oP can be used to specify a path on the com???
mand line if a pid file is required."
Doh, is there any reason for such werid behaviour?
I'd guess that the assumption was that the config file would be used
for the live service; setting things like this on the command-line
would typically be during testing, when it would be a bad idea
to interfere with the pid file for the live service ?
