Once you unblock incoming port 25, you'll see the SMTP session(s)
being run to try to get your server to accept and relay a test
message. You want to see that all 20 or so attempts are rejected,
and the last few lines look like:
Tested host banner: 220 (your server's welcome text here...)
System appeared to reject relay attempts
Connection closed by foreign host.
BTW, if you are still seeing too much load when your firewall is
blocking incoming connections from the Internet, obviously something
else must be going on...
