I'm aware of that and have been following the conversations surrounding this 
topic.

I didn't intend to suggest that exim should provide a line-wrapping facility. 
Rather I was referring to your earlier comment from 2016 about the feasibility 
of handling arbitrary-length lines in DKIM signing. Assuming an exim 
configuration that does not limit lines to 1000 octets (998 characters), that 
would allow such "bad" messages through without special attention.

It's been my experience that expecting the source of the messages to be fixed 
is often impossible even when the programmer is in-house, alive and well and 
you have face-to-face contact with them. And people will continue to expect the 
messages to get through.

If exim will not be reworked to sign messages with arbitrary-length lines then 
I might end up concocting a line-wrapping filter since it seems it could help 
with at least these two issues mentioned here.
