The tests are all on the local machine sending to an external address: “mail 
[email protected]” while logged in as “username”. It is the exim on the local 
machine I was trying to debug and not seeing any further debugging output even 
though the message was processed & rejected as shown in /var/log/exim4/mainlog 
on the same machine as the “mail” user. (The daemon was stopped so I could run 
exim in debug mode from the command line so no dueling exims.)
