So I think you are not talking about the From: header but about the envelope from. You also said you had enabled submission mode via ACL without domain setting. Spec 5.12. says: | By default, no processing of Sender: header lines is done for messages | received over TCP/IP [...] However, when a message is received over | TCP/IP in submission mode, and sender_retain is not specified on the | submission control, the following processing takes place: | First, any existing Sender: lines are removed. Then, if the SMTP session | is authenticated, and $authenticated_id is not empty, a sender address | is created as follows: | * If no domain is specified by the submission control, the local part | is $authenticated_id and the domain is $qualify_domain.
