AFAIK exim has useful options for that: + disable_ipv6 -- global option, does as name says + dns_ipv4_lookup -- global option, does as name says + ipv4_only -- transport option, IPv4 only DNS + exclude all IPv6 in transport (::/0) I would suggest do not modify GAI settings, nowadays system does that properly.
