Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought statements along the lines of "Apartment
X is 10 minutes from Metro Station Y" is that it takes one 10 minutes to
walk from Apartment X to Metro Station Y.
But that's not what is meant here, surely?

I suggest to try cian.ru - they list apt for rent on short term basis.
