Well, Russian companies do buy apts in Moscow for their needs - mostly these
are owned by out-of-Moscow companies who send their employees for temporary
job here. If the company here is OOO or whatever else registered as a
Russian company or joint venture, why not go into it? For registered rep
offices of foreign companies the story is different, though.

Subject: Expat List dumbest thing I EVER heard - buying flats

Let's get this straight: buying an apt. in the name of an employee, so that
employee hands the apt. back at the time when his work is done? why would
they do that? why not keep the apt., if they are the registered owners?!
really, really, really phenominally stupid, and frankly to me sounds like
trolling.
