As some of you may know, I used to drive a Zhiguli parts were cheap, could
be repaired with simple tools and there were always people around who could
repair it. But every day I wondered if it would start, and something was
always breaking. It ended up in the shop at least every two months, and
towed just as often.

Then I bought a new Nissan, and (knock on wood) I have not had to have a
single repair in two years. It¹s a dream to drive compared to the Zhiguli,
has a/c and automatic transmission. Any pangs of nostalgia for the simple
Zhiguli quickly disappeared.

There a still a lot of folks around who swear by the Zhiguli (and swear at
it), but I don¹t miss it at all.

What we care about a technology is that it works, and that we don¹t have to
think about how it works. It should make our life easier and more
comfortable, not more complicated and time wasting. Get a Mac.
