Unfortunately, your letter smacks of naivete: we 'foreigners'--and many of us
have
been to many places--do not care to be taken for suckers, as we so often are
assumed
we are.
This expat list is for the innocent, well-meaning, members and not for
blood-suckers
ready to take advantage of our innocent, foreign ways. It's a little like
having your
favourite watering-hole filled with piranhas; so I understand people who are
grossly
insulted by those accessing the lists to sucker us. I resent it, too.
The only reason I bothered to read into this topic is because I'm planning to
sell many
of our goods, too, before leaving this Fall, and I wanted to gage what things
were
going for. Obviously, I don't have to scroll back and find the original letter
because
the persons offerings were not--how shall I put it--dishonest?
So you see...courtesy is a fine thing, but so is a hardy response against those
trying
to trick us and insult our intelligence, don't you think?
