Despite all the gloomy Starbucks news in the States, there is one place where
the chain is thriving: Moscow!
In a ironic twist of fate, Starbucks has won the 'best coffehouse/bakery' award
in the TimeOut Moscow annual contest that took place in Rai (Paradise) night
club yesterday. And here are some other places worth checking out:
- The "Most Democratic" (meaning inexpensive ;-)) bar: Kvartira 44
- A million-dollar view: Kalina Bar
- Best service (with a million-dollar-bill :-P): Pushkin
- Best new restaurant: Мари Vanna
And, of course, if you are in Moscow and love good coffee, check out LPQ - my
favorite coffeehouse here, the chain that really should have won! :-))
